We’re happy to announce that our newsletter has been transformed into a new format. Look at the shiny new design! Clean and nice, isn’t it? It fits our new website, too.
The design only supports a new kind of content. From now on, once a month, our team will compile quotes from Divante eCommerce experts to share their ideas, insights, news, and stories. You won’t get them anywhere else. They’re just for you, our subscriber.
You’ll also be getting a second update with the blog posts, webinars, eBooks, and other resources. It’ll help you stay up to date with all what’s happening in the industry.
We all hope you’ll enjoy reading our insights as much as we did writing them!
Now, let's head to the comments section to see what the experts think.
Our comments
For the past month, the world has been holding its breath because of the situation that is happening in Ukraine, and we are trying to support its people. We especially need to keep an open mind now because thousands of excellent IT specialists are coming to our countries looking for new jobs. Let us not waste this opportunity.”
Bartłomiej Loc, Project Manager at Divante
As the war in Ukraine has shown us, world events can have a very strong impact on the purchasing behavior of users.
“The day before this tragedy started, we were making routine SEO changes on the website for one of our clients. On the 24th of February, we saw a major drop in organic traffic. It was no wonder that people from our target group wouldn’t shop for our goods as usual with the war breaking out right behind the border. It has severely affected their search behavior and matched the traffic drops in the other channels.
“Some of you may think that the market would normalize quickly, but in some industries in Central Europe, we still see a long-lasting decline in turnover by several dozen percent. As a result, to this day, we are unable to assess the real impact of the changes on the customer's website.”
Bartosz Czerniakowski, SEO Specialist at Divante
“While some industries are still struggling after the cut in traffic, according to Sembot data shared by Bartosz Ferenc on his LinkedIn two weeks ago, eCommerce has begun to heal as a whole. Traffic is down about 5% compared to the period before the war.
“The war behind our border is a huge challenge for all of us. It’s good to see a bounce back in shopping decisions. That allows us to develop further and support the people in need.”
Radek Śmigasiewicz, Digital Transformation Consultant & Management Advisor
The eCommerce market is incredible right now. With easy access to the platforms, technologies, and low entry costs for B2C, it’s ridden with fierce competition.
“The latest trends breaking through the clutter are:
Huge investments in video, live shopping, and AR.
Social commerce, which raises costs of social media ads and inspires copycatting.
Brands investing in transparency and authenticity to keep their customers close.
Companies experimenting with new marketing channels as the old ones start to fail.
The rise of SaaS platforms that replace high licensing costs with recurring subscriptions.”
Sebastian Kajzer, Head of Marketing & Outreach at Divante
One of the major pieces of news in eCommerce in our region is the international expansion of Allegro, the biggest eCommerce platform in Poland, which recently launched Allegro.com and takes over eCommerce businesses in Central Europe.
“In Poland, Allegro is an adamant eCommerce player that built its way from an auction website to a fully-fledged eCommerce giant. Even Amazon entering the Polish market wasn’t able to threaten its position. Now, you can say that the Allegro empire strikes back.
“Can they compete with equal force in the foreign markets, such as German or Czech? Time will tell. For sure, it will be a fierce battle worth watching.”

“A smooth cooperation between project manager and developer is essential in building great projects. You have to stay agile and alert to tackle challenges and unpredictable issues during the implementation.
“With that in mind, I’d like to invite you to a webinar called ‘When project manager meets developer’ on April 7th where, together with Robbie Ablett, the project manager, we’ll share our experience from a headless Spartacus storefront implementation. You can register for the event here.”
